If you are new to owning an Ipod, or even a veteran Ipod owner on your second or third (those darned batteries just wear down don’t they?) version, chances are at some point you’ve entertained the idea of getting some free downloads for your little pod. Did you know though that it’s a lot riskier than people would have you believe? Read on to find out how you can stay safe when you are downloading Ipod songs.
First of all, you need to decide if you are happy to pay for your downloads. Itunes offers a pretty good downloading service, they have a pretty good catalog of stuff you can download, and the only downside is the cost. Unfortunately, Apple can be a little greedy, so if you want to build up an extensive music collection this way, you can pretty much rest assured that it’s going to cost you a few hundred bucks, or even few thousand. Pretty harsh when you consider the relatively poor quality of MP3 files compared to other music forms, but there you are.
If you’re looking for free downloads, you’re going to want to try and find a safe site first of all. There are quite a few fake download sites around, and these will often claim to give you tons and tons of downloads for zero cost, but when you get there you will often just find a site that’s stuffed full of the worst kinds of spyware and adware. Download free Ipod song...Not too good, not too good at all…
Of course, it can be tough to tell at first which sites are legitimate and which ones are just scammy advertising sites, so you’re going to want to make sure your computer is up to date and current with it’s antivirus protection.
The final thing is perhaps the most important…don’t break the law! Downloading stuff without paying is pretty illegal in most places, so make sure you stay within the rules of wherever it is that you live. You’ll probably enjoy your downloads much more if you aren’t in jail!
